Use of Force Training Instructor
Location: Heathrow, with occasional travel as needed
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Use of Force Training Instructor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training sessions based on HOMES (Home Office Manual for Escorting Safely), C&R (Control and Restraint), and MMPR (Managing and Minimising Physical Restraint) methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting training sessions on various aspects of Use of Force to both new and experienced Care & Custody colleagues
- Utilizing a variety of techniques to accommodate different learning styles, neurodiversity needs, and individual special requirements
- Acting as a role model for professional standards and promoting a culture aligned with organizational values
- Collaborating with the Training Manager (UOF) and the Regional Training Manager to promote training initiatives across the Care & Custody department
- Providing support in enhancing communication and de-escalation skills among trainees
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a people-facing role, with a focus on communication and de-escalation
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a fast-paced, autonomous work environment within a team structure
- Relevant industry accreditations and qualifications, such as an Education and Training qualification level 3 or equivalent, and/or previous coaching and teaching experience, are desirable
- Previous training in Use of Force, First Aid, or Health & Safety instruction is advantageous but not essential
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel as necessary, including overnight stays
