Shift Electrical Engineer
Job Title: Shift Electrical Engineer
The shift rota is 2 days on 2 nights on followed by 4 days off on 12 hours shifts.
Salary up to £39,000 including shift allowance.
General Overview:
- Provide all-round engineering support and maintain building infrastructure.
- Understand and manage new and current Building Services systems and contingency procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety/building codes of practice.
- Act as a coordination point between Electrical Engineer and FM management team for day-to-day activities on site.
- Respond effectively to plant failures and housekeeping issues.
- Demonstrate capability to manage operations during shifts, including night shifts and subcontractors.
- Report difficulties encountered in engineering activities to Engineering Supervisor/Manager.
- Complete daily record keeping functions and understand escalation procedures.
- Participate in Out of Hours call-outs, overtime, and on-site works.
- Read, write, and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Carry out Point of Work risk assessments.
- PPE, uniform, tools and specialised tools supplied.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out PPM tasks and record and complete relative documents.
- Carry out reactive callouts on critical systems.
- Complete compliance testing and minor works to JSP375 standard.
- Minor installation works and testing.
- Keep up to date with industry developments, driving innovation and effective change.
- Come up with ideas and solutions to improve how things are done.
- Takes ownership of customer requests and issues and see them through to conclusion on behalf of the customer.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
- City and Guilds/NVQ Level 2 & 3 Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition
- City and Guilds 2391 Electrical Test & Inspection preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills
- Good experience of electrical maintenance and repairs
- Previous AP/ AE experience and qualifications preferred but not essential
