We’re excited to offer a compelling opportunity for a Category Manager to join our Group Procurement Team on a 12-month Fixed Term contract. This remote role will involve travel, primarily within the West Midlands area.
As a Category Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing, managing, and sustaining procurement initiatives that enhance our competitive edge across all markets. Your efforts will support our growth and profitability objectives while ensuring resilience and sustainability within our procurement strategies.

Responsibilities:
Implement the Corporate Procurement Process
Assist the Head of Procurement in formulating and executing sector category strategies
Manage designated category groupings, optimizing buying power and relationships to secure goods, materials, and services at the lowest total cost of ownership
Ensure procured items meet specification requirements and offer the best value
Provide bid support, contract mobilization, and ongoing procurement assistance to business divisions and contracts
Facilitate knowledge transfer across contracts, projects, sectors, and divisions
Report on project and category procurement cost savings
Support supplier review processes and development programs to enhance value from the supply chain
Identify forward purchasing needs in collaboration with business divisions
Collaborate with Transaction Services on supplier data management in SAP
Develop a risk management approach for goods and materials procurement
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
CIPS membership preferred
Relevant degree or qualification, such as Business Finance or Technical field
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
Effective team building and development skills
Negotiation prowess with influencing capabilities
Experience in procurement strategy and planning
Proven track record in similar roles
