We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Business Development Manager to join our team in London. In this role, you’ll spearhead the development and closure of new business opportunities, ensuring they align with customer requirements and our commitment to top-notch service quality within designated market sectors.


Responsibilities:


  1. Sales Development: Negotiate and successfully close sales opportunities, surpassing agreed-upon sales targets within designated target markets, as set by the Business Development Director and Divisional Managing Director
  2. Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and nurture long-term professional relationships with existing, new, and potential clients. Uphold exceptional after-sales support to in still mutual confidence in line with our business strategy
  3. Pipeline Management: Identify and develop a robust, long-term active pipeline by exploring existing markets and targeting new opportunities
  4. Innovative Business Development: Utilize innovative approaches to cultivate new sources of profitable business
  5. Sales Documentation: Take ownership of creating and delivering exceptional sales and tender documents and presentations adhering to company standards. Collaborate with specialist support functions and local managers to generate tenders and relevant documents
  6. Brand Representation: Enhance the company’s profile by representing us at industry events, engaging in high-level networking, and consistently projecting professionalism
  7. Market Awareness: Stay abreast of industry developments, competitor activity, and market trends to inform strategic decisions
  8. Communication and Collaboration: Keep the Sales Director fully informed of all activities and potential business opportunities. Ensure compliance by liaising regularly with specialist functions such as HR, QHS, and Commercial
  9. Adherence to Processes: Ensure appropriate sign-offs are obtained when considering new business opportunities
  10. Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records and contract documentation to support tenders and re-bids for the business
  11. Pre-Qualification Management: Handle all pre-qualifications promptly and professionally
  12. Client Support: Support re-bids and variations for existing clients


Person Specification:


Education:

  • Essential: Good basic education
  • Desirable: Higher educational qualifications up to HNC/D or degree level


Experience:

  • Essential: Proven sales/business development experience in a relevant field
  • Essential: Experience in producing high-quality sales documents and delivering impactful presentations
  • Essential: Experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders, including site staff, suppliers, and customers


Aptitudes:

  • Target-driven and thrive in a high-pressure sales environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
