Head Of Commercial
We are partnering with a leading client to recruit an interim Head of Commercial within their Housing Division. This position will play a pivotal role in contract transformation and in the improvement of internal commercial best practice.
Role Overview
As Head of Commercial, you’ll be responsible for driving commercial transformation initiatives across the contract, providing visible and meaningful leadership to the team and working collaboratively with colleagues to drive long term value and client satisfaction. Understanding the commercial nuances of public sector contracts and driving commercial best practice will be critical.
You will also contribute heavily to creating a positive cultural change within the team to ensure they are supported and motivated, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and values.
Key Responsibilities
Drive a commercial overhaul process by evaluating existing practices, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimise efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices.
Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team, ensuring clear communication and high performance.
Monitor financial performance and ensure that commercial goals align with the company’s broader financial objectives.
Analyse commercial data to identify trends, problems, and opportunities, delivering actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
Regularly update senior leadership on contract status, commercial performance, and the impact of process improvements.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Experience: 7+ years in commercial management of repairs and maintenance contracts. A background in facilities management, specifically housing, is a plus.
Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management and data driven decision making.
Knowledge: Schedular rates contracts, repairs and maintenance, housing.
